What is this service?
The Continence Advisory Service provides specialist advice, information and support to anyone who has a bladder or bowel problem. We offer individualised treatment and management options following an assessment of your symptoms. The service also has a computerised home delivery service.

Stockport residents.
When is the service available?
Clients are assessed in the clinic or at home as appropriate between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday-Friday
Who do I contact for an assessment?
- Health Visitor -Assess children and young people from 2 – 19 years old. Special needs children can access the Home Delivery Service following assessment, from 4 years old if continence is not yet achieved.
- Children and Young People’s Continence Service
– referral via your health visitor.
- District Nurse – Assess
clients aged 19 years and older who are either housebound or reside in residential care.
- Adult Continence Service
– Assess clients in clinic who are aged 19 years and older. Clients should be able to transfer onto a couch – please note that lifting devices are not available in clinic.
Specialist continence advice or information is available to all Stockport residents by telephoning the Continence Nurse Specialists.

Adult Continence Service tel no. 0161-426-5370 contact time is 12.00 – 1.00pm Monday to Thursday. Alternatively please leave your name, address and telephone number and a short message on our answer machine and someone will return your call; although this may not be the same day.
